Top 7 Snacks that will Improve Your Wine Experience
As wine lovers, we all know that the basic rule of thumb for wine with food is that red meat with red wines and white meat with white wines.
How about if you are in the mood to enjoy your favorite glass of wine, but do not want an actual meal?
People are more willing to pop open a can of beer for their favorite snacks, but are sometimes do not know what snacks are best for wine.
Here are Wine It Now's top 7 snack recommendations for wine:
[1] Cheese
Well, the first one is an easy and obvious one. Cheese goes well with red or white wine. We also recommend that you try sweet sparkling wine with blue cheese.
[2] Cold Meats
Just like cheese, this one is pretty obvious for most wine lovers. Enjoy your favorite type of wine with salami, pastrami, or even white meat.
[3] Pizza
I am really into pizza and beer, but pizza and wine is also a very good match. I think there is a reason why Italians love pizza and wine.
[4] Tortilla Chips
Most of the snacks that go well with wine are more on the salty side. Tortilla chips are no exception. Try the chips with some salsa (or guacamole) to give a really nice kick.
[5] Salty Pretzels
If you are into salty snacks, but do not want them with anything else (like tortilla chips with salsa or guacamole), the pretzels would be a great choice for your favorite wine.
[6] Salted Nuts
Now, you might be thinking, "Why is everything 'Salted' here?" Well, you don't have to go for the salted nuts if you would like, but to me, plain nuts have been somewhat boring when I had them with wine. I personally think unsalted nuts go better with beer.
[7] Veggies & Dips
If you are more health conscious (well, after all, many of us use the excuse that a glass of wine every night is good for your heart), you can go for healthier snacks. You can grab some celery and carrots with your favorite dips to give you a more healthy snack.
